As you know, TAKO supports Edudrive (Educational Drive) project in Ghana as all benefits from the sales of our tables are reinvested in this program.
Since many years, Ping Sans Frontieres gives support to NK Foundation for the development of table tennis in primary schools in Takoradi. The aim of the project is to develop self-confidence and the well being of the kids. Table tennis is proposed as an extracurricular activity in the schools under the supervision of our head of TAKO Ghana, Ishmael, and of the teachers.
Ping Sans Frontières is providing all sports equipment while TAKO is providing its ping-pong tables made in Ghana.
The number of kids attending school in Kweikuma and Ofankor in Ghana has fallen considerably. Parents from the kids have not enough money to meet the needs of their children (furnitures, food, medical expenses, uniforms).
These parents are living in slums and most of the kids have one of their two parents unemployed. Then, kids have no other solution than to quit school in order to find a job and to earn money to answer the needs of their family.
Kids from those poor areas that are attending school often abandon school has their situation is not improving.
Edudrive's aim is to help those kids. Indeed, selected kids are taking through the rudiment of playing table tennis by coaches and volunteers. Also, they are assisted academically by the partner schools in Literacy and Numeracy.
The table tennis development project dubbed Edudrive T.T (Educational Drive) sought to boost academic performance, reduce risky behaviors, promote physical health, and provide a safe, structured environment for children to play. It is also aimed at increasing girls’ participation in sports. The goal of this project is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all and achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. More than 400 kids will participate in this program.
Do not hesitate to make a donation to support this educational project.
